Sorry to say but you are a victim of pirated software. The Windows Operating System you installed is an unlicensed copy and Windows Live Update has detected it as such. This is not ad ware or spy ware. Your only choice is to either buy a legitimate copy of Windows, or live with the pop up that keeps reminding you that you are using pirated software. You can keep using your Windows Operating System but won't be able to log onto live update at the Microsoft server. I have heard of rumors of software on the web that can go around this Live Update detection. Maybe you can do a web search on this. This might take some time but may be well worth it if that pop up window on your XP blue screen disappears.

Check out these sites:

You can try these sites or similar sites and download a license key. I have to warn you though, MAKE SURE YOU DO A THOROUGH VIRUS SCAN ON ANYTHING YOU DOWNLOAD FROM THESE SITES since some of them contain MALICIOUS SOFTWARE THAT MAY DAMAGE YOUR COMPUTER. Do it at your own risk.

The best thing to do is to be wary of pirated copies of anything and buy the genuine product instead. That way you get the tech support that you need and avoid needless embarrassment.

Good luck!!!

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. You'll have to go through your entire PC and delete all ad on software, and malicious software. There are several free programs online that allow you to do that. Try google to find the best.

Sounds like spyware. Download Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE from here: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5
After you download it, run it to find and eliminate all the spyware you might have. With any luck, the dreaded pop-up should go away.
