in shows/movies about teenagers, they make them look stupid and clueless, when really hardly any teenagers portray that kind of character for real life? Just curious.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean, however some shows and movies can portray teenagers just like most of them seem to be today. You should try maybe watching the movie Thirteen, I've seen parts of it and it seems very realistic to me. The young girl has a rough relationship with her mother, takes up drugs and alcohol and piercings. A normal path of life troubled teens could end up leaning towards any day. The young actress who supposedly wrote the script tried to base it on what her life use to be.
Also, One Tree Hill is a seemingly good television show to watch. Although the actors are in their twenties and look nothing like teenagers, the show is fairly good. They don't make the characters stupid or clueless. Its the normal teen age drama life - School, boyfriends, friendship and all the happiness and trouble those aspects bring. One episode had a school shooting, so that pretty much had an affect on viewers. The actors potrayed it very maturely.

Well, it's real life over-exaggerated. And now real life is becoming just like the over-exaggerated TV shows and movies. I mean they investigated and 3 out of 4 girls in my school either have Bulimia or Anorexia. There are also A LOT of teen pregnancies and most of the children get totally drunk on the weekends.

Because teenagers are at a point in their life where they seem "clueless". They are trying to find themselves. It's pretty much a stereotype that movies use, kinda like the ghetto black guy, the white nerd with glasses. the dumb hot blonde, ect...

A lot of teenagers are clueless, but if you walked into my high school today, most of the people there are anything but dumb.

well i don't live that way,i hope ....lol but i know two girls at my school that are stupid and clueless .... one of them is are cheerleader captian and is very clueless but suprisingly she is in the top half of our class .. so maybe there are more people we don't realize are clueless .... but the other girl she is just plain stupid and clueless and she has no problem attmiting ... lol

yes, they make the young look hopeless, but they are even worse to the adults. ie; That 70s Show. Those are the dumbest parents ever.

No, all teenagers are dumb. Except me! : ) They go out and **** random people, get stoned, get drunk, smoke cigarettes all day, and watch pornos 24/7. What isn't stupid and clueless about that?
