My school has a wireless signal around town, how do I get that signal onto my laptop. I already have a network card. Sometimes I can only access the internet from my couch, and if I do get it its usually very slow? How can I get the signal to be spread out over the entire house and it be very fast?

You cant change the way a signal comes in. If the school is far away you're lucky you can get the signal. Your best bet is to sit by an open window or somewhere nearest to the school. Your network card should pick up the signal and give you access to the internet. Or, try to refresh and see if maybe a hotel or something closer has an open connection for you to leach to. Hope it helps. (i had to do the same thing for a while using our college ip across the street)

That must be a small town. You cant spread out the signal but you can make yourself appear "bigger" i.e. longer range. Youll need to get an external antenna for your network card. Not all network cards have support for external antennas so you'll have to look around.

it would be better if you don't get wireless internet as it makes it easier for people to hack in to your computer.
