Their Mexicaness...lol.
No no no...the thing is that vanilla originally came from Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, and because, at one time Mexico produced the world's finest vanilla it has kept the label as "the world's best vanilla".
As for the oregano, when a recipe calls for Mexican Oregano you shouldn't use the over the counter kind, cause Mexican oregano comes from a different family than its European counterpart, and it lends dishes a subtle, sweeter flavor.
You sure have me doing a lot of research this morning...lol.

I'm not sure as to the real difference, but I find Mexican vanilla has a sweeter smell and a better taste. Maybe the folks that make it use higher quality beans and have more experience with the process. I LOVE to bake... it may be simply personal preference, but Mexican vanilla goes into all my special creations.
As for the oregano... I grow my own :)

The change? About $three? There is not any change. People would let you know that the Madagascar bean is larger fine however none of them might be competent to inform the change. Vanilla is vanilla, however within the USA Madagascar sounds extra distinctive than undeniable historical Mexico.
