If people can't tell the difference between Obama and Osama, they shouldn't be voting. You know that his middle name is Hussein, too, don't you?
So what? He did not get to pick his name. He also tried pot, and he inhaled. He admitted it himself and didn't make excuses. Who hasn't tried pot?

Someone has been trying to dig up some dirt on him, and so far all they have come up with are a few parking tickets from his college days at Harvard. HARVARD!

So that's how the similarity between the two names impacts me. I can't speak for others.

Barely worth answering, but here goes...

I'm sure it has a big effect on xenophobes. Then too, there are the people who are afraid of "magic negroes".

Do you think he'd do much better if his name was Frank Armstrong and he was a 45 year-old white male, but still had the same political background and platform?

What a stupid question. Even if his name was Osama, he's not related and has nothing to do with Bin Laden. It will only bother people who weren't voting for him anyway. Any intelligent person could care less.

Nothing, look at our presidents name. Bush is zero letters away from the word Bush, as in Bush league. He is definitively the captain of the Bush league as well. Has not hurt him in the elections.

unfortunately it is his race more than his name that makes him a long shot...there are just too many conservative bigots out there and probably many of them even consider themselves liberal democrats...i hope i'm wrong...but america is probably more ready for a woman white president than a black male regardless of how attractive obama seems to be...........

I think his middle name (Hussein) will have a worse impact than his last!! I just can't imagine having a president with that name in this time.
