It means that they're still hungry !! Of course it's natural. They're growing girls and hungry little bubs. Just increase the strength of their formula. The extra nutrition in the more nutritionally dense formula will fill up their little tummies and give both you and them a good night's sleep............... :0)

I breastfed my twins and had some issues with them being hungry also. First, make sure that you are drinking enough water. I found that I needed to drink an extra two quarts of water a day to keep my supply up for both babies. Also, you can try cluster-feeding in the early evening, which may allow the feedings to be further apart later at night when you want to be sleeping. The one other thing I did for my twins when they were a little older than your kids was give them a bottle of formula for the feeding just before I wanted to go to sleep. Formula seems to keep them satisfied a little bit longer.
Good luck, my twins are almost 1 1/2 now and they are worth all the extra work and sleepless nights!

Don't worry, it's just a growth spurt. And you are probably exhausted. And WOW - you are an amazing mom! Twins are a lot of work...it must seem like you do nothing but feed and change diapers!

When I nursed my firstborn, he was more hungry at night. I learned that my milk supply was lower at that time of day because I was tired and I was not getting enough fluids.
Nursing twins is especially demanding on your body, so just take extra good care of yourself since you are providing most of the nutrition for your babies.

Also - get some household help so you can rest more. Your body needs rest to produce milk. I'm sure friends and family would be willing to help you out for a few weeks. If you can afford it, you can hire someone to come in and clean for a couple of months.

Of course its natural they need to triple their weight n a year!
Feed them as much as they want but try to feed more in the daytime so that they will not want as much at night
Of course when they are a little older you can have feeding times but now they are too young for that they just need to be fed whenever they are hungry

When my twins were little I was feeding them every three hours... my husband and I worked hard to get them on a schedule early on... try to get them on a schedule and stick to it...
At about 8 weeks one of the twins started to sleep through the night...
Try to keep track of how much they are eating at each feeding. If they are falling asleep during the feedings, do whatever you can to keep them awake to ensure that they are getting enough at each feed.
It is normal for them to want to eat more as time progresses. Things will settle down and get easier with time.
Good luck to you!

Babies will cry for a variety of reasons, including a need for human contact. Just because they dont need to be changed doesnt mean they are hungry, even if feeding quiets them. Try walking around the house with them when they cry, try singing...try everything you can think of if you know they shouldnt be hungry.

They will need to eat at night for many months to come. It is totally natural, as their stomachs are the size of their fists and breastmilk digests quickly. I would increase their feedings as needed to insure that they are able to grow properly. Be sure you pump if you are giving them bottles. Formula is not digested as effectively. Thank goodness you are breastfeeding!
My mom breastfed twins for 1.5 years!-)

try adding farax/rice cereal to their formula it worked for my son,you need to put holes in the teets. people will tell you that food is bad for them but my mum did this with me and my brother and i'm now 28! my son is healthy he is never crook.. he is now three. it helps with them sleeping thru too. b/c they feel full. the flavoured one is good. my doctor had no problems with it. every one follows the text book but kids dont come with manuals they are all diferent. try it you can moniter them/it if you change your mind then just stop it.

I would consult your pediatrician, maybe you are not producing enough breastmilk to supply both of them. Also, just because they are crying that doesn't mean that they are hungry- they may just need to satisfy their need to suck, do they use pacifiers?
