That his message is lost. A person shouldn't be judged by the color of their skin, as in quotas and affirmative action. We are all individuals.

I think he would be outspoken about the War in Iraq/Afghanistan and the way that the US government at home has compromised democratic freedoms in its attempts to pursue suspected terrorists. Also Guantamamo Bay and the fact that the US, while claiming to defend democracy, has supported (and still supports) so many dictatorships.
As to the comments of some earlier posters about some black people compromising the ideals he stood for, he had this to deal with during his lifetime. He'd probably be making some rueful comment about how things don't seem to have changed much in that respect, but the main thrust of his campaign would be imo as in 1st para.

He would have been unwaveringly opposed to our current wars and human rights abuses.
Of that I have no doubt.
He would be deeply distressed by the continuing racial divide in this country, as well as the increasing disparity between rich and poor and rapidly disappearing middle class.
And he would have been hammering at our spending priorities -- less and less to actually help people, more and more for the destructive people.
He would have been exceedingly bothered by the disenfranchisement of black voters in the last presidential election.
Most of all, I suppose he would be disappointed at how few pacifists there are today -- so many see only violence and brutality as the "answer" to every problem. Hardly anyone understands that violence and brutality are NOT solutions, but only make all problems worse.

I think he would be disappointed to see that things really haven't changed for some of the older generation. The older generation still has the white/white black/black mindset. They don't want to see a mixed couple or mixed children. People segregate themselves at High School football games and churches. Even Survivor is being segregated now. I believe that skin color doesn't matter.

The current administrations pushing of "your either with us or against us" or "if you are against the war you support the terrorists and/or don't support the troops" mentality.
It has done nothing but bitterly divide the country. We have become so focused on labeling each other neo-cons or liberals, fascists, commies or whatever that we have forgotton about solutions. It is shameful for a president to instill such dangerous destructive behavior in our citizens.

The fact that the movement has been allowed to flounder as many people forget the message of unity he struggled hard to forge, as the "Go to get theirs"
That black folks have traded in on kind of step and fetch it in movies and TV and music, for another one.
Aaron McGruder's cartoon "Return of the King" puts it so much better than I could.

He's not alive, if he were he would be pissed at BET, UNCF, Jet Magazine, NAACP etc., and the fact that if any other race tried to set up race specific entities, they would be publicly persecuted.
