Hey! My daughter is in ninth grade and is looking for clothing/dressing tips. If it helps, she is about 5' 5", slim, and has blonde hair. Thanks!

Before you do anything, she has to find a brand of jeans that look good on her and flatter her figure. She probably has long legs, so I'd go into the brands that have longer legs. I would suggest Hollister because they aren't too expensive (but everyone gets the impression that they are), and they are really fitted. I'm slim, and they look and feel great on me! They have them in skinny or flared. Personally, I like flared, but if she likes skinny, then you have to wear ballet flats with it because sneakers don't look good with skinny jeans.

Once you have found a brand of jeans that looks good, try to figure out what her style is. For me, I'm preppy, so I like the designs at Hollister, but I also sometimes shop at Aeropostale or American Eagle. Abercrombie & Fitch is okay, but they are really expensive. But if she just likes plain old cute clothes, she may be better off at Forever 21. If she has a bold, colorful style Wet Seal or Delia's would be perfect for her. Sometimes I just have a bunch of things from a bunch of different stores.

I am slim, as I mentioned before, and I also have blonde hair too. I find that the colors that look best on me are blues and pinks...or any pastel shade. Your daughter should be able to weare any color...except tell her to stay away from the yellows! Pastels with look best on her, esp. light pinks and blues...sometimes greens.

I like to wear lace tanks with a henley tee or v-neck over them, but it depends on what your daughter likes. I always layer over something, however, so make sure you stock up on tank tops!

Flatter is not the word you are looking for. She is 14 and as a parent and if it were my kid she would not I REPEAT NOT be wearing short skirts or low rise jeans. It is school not a fashion show. And you have to remember how boys that age think.

She should feelcomfortable in whatever she wears to start it off. But I think that she should wear cute jeans wit cute blouses and shirts that are colorful. Noy just white and boring. Her shoes should be tennis shoes, no heals. Only for occations. or once in a while because its gonna be alot of walkin and stairs. its alot of classes and there are everywhere. cute belts to match and purses to match. Of course diffrent color purses not the same old purse. Make it surprising. Make others always look at you and be like she knows how to dress. they will try to copy your style, so watch out

short skirts, pants, capris & tops with short sleeves are the best. and if you wish you can add more beauty by wearing accessories like long earings, gloss, matching shoes or sandals, belts, watches and sun glasses.i suggest this because she seems to be of my age & i am also blond and slim & also 5'3".

Tell her to wear what's her and be original. But bright colors are in. And those 'pregnancy' shirts lol. The ones that are tight at chest and then loose at stomach.
