My background is mostly Irish, Scottish, English and Native American with a smidgen of Prussian and Alsatian thrown in for the fun of it.

I tend to be more formal with people than Italians. I need more personal space to feel comfortable with people than Italians do. I am not as emotive in speech, nor do I use my hands as adjuncts to my words.

I enjoy meeting people, but I'm less likely to get close to them than the Italians do.

I love Italian cooking, except for calamari.

Like most Italians, I'm Catholic. My culture is very Americanized as I'm fifth generation on my father's side, except for the Native American and seventh on my mother's side, except for the English part, which is only 4th.

I consider myself American and am proud of my country and most of what its people have accomplished, especially in economic areas and in learning to live side by side in relative peace though coming from widely varying backgrounds.. Not bad for a bunch of criminal deportees and religious refugees, eh?
