Your question starts "IF"we all die", perhaps there is part of us recognized by many that does not die, that remains to experience the effect of the choices(cause) we have made.
This is generally the domain of religon, but the scientific principle of "cause and effect" should allow for due consideraton.

The flaw in your logic is this: if nobody cared about the future, where would all the planes, boats, and cars come from? There would be no industry, no science, pretty much no nothing. What you are asking for is to live like a wild animal: cold, hungry most of the time, flea-ridden, and short-lived.

I'll pass on that, thank you.

It's okay if you don't think there's a Heaven or a Hell or the like. But don't kid yourself. Not only are all these things you mention NOT disproven, some of them have actually been proven true in one sense or another.

And why does a source of meaning even have to be external? Why does your life have to be meaningless even if there is not diety standing next to you telling you what that meaning is? Perhaps if you want a meaning and can't hear the Divine, you can MAKE some meaning instead of just letting everything spiral into destruction. Go read some Nietzsche or something.

Peace.

if that were true than why bother with a law or a legal system or fairness and equality rights? I think your point of view is just pretty lazy and selfish. People need jobs to make more of themselves and to provide. You can't live off the land if all the farmers for instance said screw palnting for the world, the world can farm its own crops and food. The murderers would get away with killing when the legal system says people can just take care of themselves against rapists and thieves. If some person dies well too darn bad for them. Do you see my point? I could list thousands more situations of people being absolutely selfish and all messed up and confused. Humans need purpose in order to make life worth it. People need order. Don't get me wrong I would love to do whatever and I do with vacations. Telling the yourself you don't care is fine cuz that's just you but if the whole world did it there would be more problems. You have it way to easy and obviously need a life.

I will tell you why. Because life does not like extremes. Life seeks to balance itself. You can travel the world, but if you observe others you will find that even the most intrepid person comes home in the end. You might remember during the 70's and 80's and the hippy movement? It was o k while it lasted, but eventually even old hippies need shelter and a little income so most went back to a conventional lifestyle.
There is a famous commune, still around, in country New South Wales in Australia, well documented by sociologists, whose children left the commune one by one as soon as they grew up to pursue education and a personal life.

I will not argue whether there is a God or not.
I think you should try living off the land for a while. I don't recommend starting in the snow, though. Start when the weather is good, because it will take you a while to get settled and develop your survival skills.
This could be a very rewarding experience for you, much more gratifying than feeling the emptiness of life.

What if I told you that God exists.... what if I could swear it, what if I said I know for sure. What if I also said the father of lies and confusion, Lucifer also exists. He has laid his trap for you and countless others. You live selfish lives at the expense of others. When the day comes, and it will, when you stand before God and he says I do not know you, what will you say "I didn't know" but you do know because I just told you and I am sure others have tried and you are rejecting your salvation. This time on earth is but a moment in eternity. Where is it you want to spend the rest of forever, in the light and love of God or an unending lake of fire? Ya your going to say I am just another religious fanatic...... but I can tell you that I have seen something that changed my life forever. Consider what it is you really want......

We are put on this earth to make a contribution to society.

Humans are different than animals in only one way, humans have free will. Animals have to live off the land and steal what they can.

Why don't you check out your brain and see if society can use it. This life can be fun. You just have to plan it.

You should do whatever you think gives you long lasting happiness. If you don't believe in an afterlife, you should still do what gives you the most happiness for the longest time.
