Okay, i bought a test and i took it out of the foil... set it down on the counter to take it... then got sidetracked.... I didnt take the test that day or the day after.. but today, and it says that Im pregnant... My question is... Even if the test is at room temperature would being out of the foil packet it comes in affect the test results? Please let me know as soon as possible. I have had strange pregnancy symptoms... and also a abnormal pap smear... I have had major cramping in my abdominal area- and sometimes it painful to go to the bathroom.

You are probably pregnant, but take another test just in case. The company will recommend you take another test taking care to follow all the instructions accurately. False positives are very rare, because the test is measuring HCG, a hormone only present when you are pregnant. It also sounds like you could have a UTI. And FYI, cramping in the first trimester is very common, contrary to what someone else mentioned. It's a listed symptom in many pregnancy books. As long as it isn't accompanied by bleeding, it's not something you need to worry a lot about.

Not sure, buy another test. Stay alert wrt the cramping though, especially if the test is positive. You could have an ectopic pregnancy (unlikely, but possible), which is when the baby implanted itself in the wrong spot, and this is dangerous. If you keep having issues, bleed after having another positive pregnancy test or hurt a lot, go see a doctor.

I would definitely go and buy another test and do it again. In fact, buy one that has two tests in it and do two more just to make sure. I am not a doctor but I don't think an abnormal pap smear of any type will give you a false reading because it is detecting a hormone in your urine that pregnant women have. good luck!

Yeah, these tests are just testing for the presense of the pregnancy hormone. It'll be positive no matter when you take it after you open in. I'm not sure why they say to take it immediately after opening the foil.

I dont think that should have messed up the test....If you got a positive you probably are really pregnant. If it had of messed up the test the control bar would have probably been messed up....All you can really do is go get another test and take it and if you get a positive again than get to the dr....Good Luck!!

Yes you are pregnant there is never going to be a false postive, call company they will tell you the same.
Why ??
Be cause test is testing for prengancy hormones in your urine if it wanst there it would never be able to register a yes or positive result.
Now you can be pregnant & it register a No or negative because enough hormone didnt show up to show a yes.
You definatly are preggers girl, sorry

That sounds like a urinary tract infection. YOu don't cramp when you are pregnant.
