I mean, by dominated i don't mean every single musician is male, (so don't start listing) but all these big bands, beatles, stones, queen, etc, they're all male and people like elvis all male, there are some big musical females, abba, enya etc. But more men. But do men dominate it?

I think the big difference is that the women generally sound the same. Beyonce, Christina, Kelly Clarkson, Pink-all of them. The male bands and vocalists try to stand out in their own way. I believe that men don't necessarily dominate, but they stand out more.

I think sometimes it depends on the genre of music. I can think of way more pop divas than rocker girls. Props to Joan Jett, Lene Lovich, Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, Justine from Elastica & Kim Wilde though!

No. Absolutely not.There are plenty of women in the music business who are awesome artists. There are great male singers and female singers. The talent in the music business between the two different sexes is equal.

yeah course, alot of women won't admit it but it's a fact. Who are the big female musical influences, now compare them to the men, no comparison. And it's not just a coincidence that they're all men. Men dominate everything

Sadly, I think you are right. Most bands are strictly male, and today's male singers (mostly rappers and R&B singers) are topping the charts.

not at all, in fact.. there have been more successful female solo artists than male.
