so many thing r handmade but noting is like nice as your own photo in oil paint as my experience said u appreciate quality of work and it is in reasonable price,
i think unique gift for yourself is oil painting and it is handmade
A great idea for a personal and unique gift is a handmade painting made from a photo that you send.

Well so many things are handmade now, but
Candles are always nice.
Pottery is nice as well.
I'm a little quirky so I like collecting art dolls.
Stained glass, blown glass.
I guess it's really what appeals to you the most.

Anything crocheted! Such as an afghan, tablecloth, bedspread, doilies and even for the new little ones, layette sets. My sister-in-law still has the layette set I made for my nephew 19 years ago. And a well made afghan will last forever. I still have the one I made for my mother 20+ years ago, she passed in '99.

I quilt, can, crochet, make jewelry, garden, knit, write children's stories, make baskets, carve. one daughter does pottery, a son does lots of wood carving and another builds awesome woodland garden sets. We have weavers, sculptors ... you name it. Doing a craft or appreciating someone else's is a matter of a particular thing appealing to you for yourself or someone else at a specific moment - there is no one size fits all. Do what YOU enjoy and someone will buy it - if not, it wasn't for them. The joy of unique is in finding what is in the clay, fabric, wood or metal and giving it life.

I like the decorative kitchen that have a croched top so you can hand them over a handle in the kitchen (such as on the door to the oven)...you cannot buy these in stores and they are so handy. I have received ones that coordinate with my kitchen as well as ones for the holidays...I buy them at craft shows all the time and I wish I knew how to make them myself!

Find some handmade cards- with REAL paper, not the cheap cardboard paper. Trust me, it will bring a smile to someone's face when they see that you didn't go out to hallmark and lolligag.

Bead kit!!!
BEadS!!! YEAHHHHH!
Either make a kit for them, including small beads and focal beads jumprings, wire, clasp, ear hooks needle nosed jewelry pliers and rosary pliers. (I LOVE GETTING STUFF LIKE THAT!)
Or you can get a readymade kit. You can get them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby or even the craft area in Walmart!
This place is great at these kind of items! expecially for beginners!

Textiles--quilts, clothes, basketry. Glass-primarily blown. Anything wood, particularly boxes or furniture.
In short, anything I can't make myself (which is a rapidly shriking list).
