i have a hp computer. and when it shutsdown the screen says no signal. why?

Don't let it drive anymore! I think the # 2 answer is right!

This is because when your computer is off, your PC isn't sending any signals to your monitor. This means that since the monitor cannot display anything because your PC is off, the monitor says that it isn't receiving any signals from the computer (which is normal). I hoped this solved your problem.
