I didn't think I would need to say this, but to pick and choose which attorneys to fire is what makes it seem seedy. That is where the difference lies. Yes, it happens all the time, but you are probably just desensitized to it when you hear about the same thing at WAL Mart.

The problem is they can not keep their stories straight and when asked by Congress and an answer is given and then the answer is proven to be false(by emails that came to light), then you have lied. It is the continual lies that are the problem. If they would have said Yes the White House had input into the firings as these prosecutors serve at the pleasure of the President, Congress would not have had a foot to stand on.

I am tired of hearing about Clinton firing all of the prosecutors as the truth is Bush at the start of his first term just as Clinton did fired ALL of the prosecutors. It happens each time there is a change of party in the White House! These are political appointees that serve a 4 year term that runs concurrently with the Presidency. Bush's problem here is among the 8 fired prosecutors were 3 that had conviction rates in the top ten nation wide and alarm bells were sounded because they were terminated because they had strong ethics and did not bend to the political power that some in BushCo thought they should have.
