I don't believe that he's adept at uniting people. I voted for him twice because his opponents were even bigger retards. George Bush is a liberal. He has divided the Republican Party. He's not fiscally responsible. He's encouraging illegal-immigration. He's for an assault weapons ban (anti-2nd amendment). He's for butchering the Constitution (Patriot Act).

He unites us in our nearly total agreement that he is doing a poor job.
As a nation we are not in such universal agreement on any one issue.
Where the APPEARANCE of agreement is created is by the incessant poles published as "news".
Questions are poorly asked. A polster may ask "Do you disagree with the handling of the war?" Almost anyone would answer "yes" to that question. Then it comes out in the news that a huge per centage of the population is against the war.
What should be asked is "Do you think Americans should take action to defend themselves against terrorism?" Followed by a series of questions about what actions they think are appropriate.
I could suggest:
"Should we seal our coast and borders and not allow any items or persons cross without first being checked?"
"Should we take actions internationally to support the majority of Islamic citizens who want independance from tyranical rule?"
"The UN voted 17 times to limit, correct, change and finally punish Saddam Hussane's regime. The world as a whole demanded something be done. George Bush took action. In evaluating his actions we find he handled the aftermath of the removal of the Iraq regime to be poorly executed. Do you think the original decision to do SOMETHING about the tyrany was wrong?"
My point is, perception depends on BIAS created by how questions are asked and how the results are reported.
We are not unified as a nation as to what direction we should be taking in the war on terror, the issues are not adequately understood on an intellectual level, more on an emotional level. We could be more unified if those who run the news propiganda machine were to do a proper job of dealing with truth.

Liberal Alert! See, Dubya is good at uniting people because, he appears to be blue collar. People see him, hear his voice, and notice his mannerisms and think that he is one of them. However, he is no where near blue collar. His father was president for chrissakes! He says and does what the people want. He's totally blue state, and hey look, thats the majority. When people agree on narrowmindedness, they unite.

Well, he has a good vision for what he wants to do in Iraq, and knows that America doesn't like to lose. And for all the Dems that want a timetable, did we timetable WWII? Did we say that if we didn't get Hitler by 1945 we were backing out?
