it is a digtal dash, everything on it works, just the speedometer doesnt move from zero.what could the problem be. is it the distance(speed sensor)

sounds like your speed sensor, it should put out a code that will come up telling you if that is the problem turn your car on off on off on without starting it look at your engine light it will flash codes first will be a 12 which is one flash pause then two flashes then the trouble code 15 that is the code for no vehicle speed signal then what ever else codes then will end with a 55 which means end of codes if you do get the code 15 replace your speed sensor

j.b. has the right answer. this car doesnt even have a speedo- cable. your check engine light is on without this information. look in a repair manual made for retreiving automotive trouble codes.( like he said, it's done with the ignition key)

The cable may have come disconnected from the tail end of the transmission.

That or speedometer cable broke
