Any tips on how to relax?

I always find I have random thoughts going round in my mind, and hence find it difficult to relax. Then I get myself into a panic!

Music. One word that can cure anyones mind from a stressed out mess to a relaxed more chilled out mood.

YES!!! I have this same problem.

The thing that has helped me is to make sure that I accomplish something during the day. Whether it's cleaning the house or talking to a friend or making sure my duaghter gets to play outside. Also, having a little time to myself to think over things DURING THE DAY has helped to clear my mind before it's time to relax. Chances are that if you're having trouble clearing your mind there are things that you need to think about. So, think about them... the random thoughts are there for a reason. You'll never be able to relax until you see them through.

At night before you go to bed, it also helps to breathe. I do this silly thing, I don't even know where I got it but it helps a lot. When you're laying down to relax take a deep breath through your nose. Hold it and think about something that has been bothering you. Exhale through your mouth and picture the problem leaving with the breath. It may not get rid of the whole problem but it helps you to see that it's not that big of a deal! Plus, the breathing will help your muscles relax and clear your mind.

I have a 10 month old baby and a business to run, not to mention keeping the house clean and tidy, its drives me potty, The best way I relax is to turn everything off, tv etc etc even music, pour myself a drink, sit down, put my feet up and think of nothing. Its easier said than done, and if I cant do that, I go and sit in the bathroom ( I call it my office)

Sure, try fishing, light some candles, burn some incense, hell read a book and meditate, not in this order, not all at once. An Atlantean bath and good music is good form.

Yoga - helped me no end as I couldn't quiet the old brain down before. Now I'm able to find more peace - and it's free.

No. My life is so relaxed, it is like the dial tone on a telephone.

Same thing with me. Been that way forever. I worry way too much. The only thing that helped was Lexapro. Not taking it now. I can't afford it.
