Cricket isn't part of the holy triumvirate of sports in the US. If it's not basketball, baseball, or football it's not a big deal in the US. For example, more US youths probably play soccer than any other organized sport yet soccer still hasn't become a primary sport in the US. These three sports are entertainment. That's what people here want to see on TV. Things like cricket, rugby, and etc. are merely fringe sports this side of the Atlantic.

Cricket is played in the USA but they have other important sports that involves history and populatiry. The USA probably just wants to exceed in the current played sports. May be in the future, there will be a cricket team that plays in the world cup because of the high european and Asian imigrants found in the US.

In USA and Russia not many people show interest in cricket and as such it is not at all popular in these countries. That is the reason why these countries are not series about cricket.

The average American doesn't have the attention span to watch cricket. Not trying to be mean, but there is NOTHING like cricket in the American entertainment world. Although I'm sure the TV companies would love it....so much time for commercials!

Cricket is NOT a major sport in the "Colonies" like it is in the former British Empire. There are some teams here in the US, but only amature teams. Think of it as baseball not being a major sport in the UK.

Cricket was invented by the Britishers.
