That's terrible. I think you should forgive and forget. But then you can probably forget birthday,Christmas and everything else too. I've never forgotten any special day. I start planning something special as much as 3 months ahead of time. But that's just me. Lots of men don't consider it worth remembering. And that is shameful. Next year, try dropping a few hints a week before the occasion. Maybe he was just busy, or stressed out or something. Did you remember him/her? If you did it probably made him/her feel pretty bad. Good luck next year.

Punish him in a way he will NEVER forget your anniversary, for me, i will tie him up on the bed and do ALL sorts of bad thing on him until he begs for forgiveness, but its not beating or hurting him, ( think of your own method) and he will never forget the anniversary again..

I'd make them feel guilty initially, but I wouldn't harp on it. Mistakes happen. If they do it every year, then you have to make a choice: either remind them about a week prior to the date, or simply give up on expecting them to remember. It's nice to celebrate an anniversary, but not worth world war 3.
Good luck.

I'd mention it - let him know I was a bit hurt and then let it go.

Never let him live it down. The balls in your court now. A little guilt and you should be getting everything you want. I would never do this but I heard it works.
