does anyone know what the english term for a night stand drawer is, i quote "thier was not a single drawer in the room"

We would call it a bedside table not a night stand.

Drawers would refer to a chest of drawers - in that context the meaning is "there was no place in the room to put anything"

I think it would be called a night stand drawer. Is that the thing with a washing bowl in it?
