I can't have a "good cry" anymore because I was trained out of it as a child...I start to feel faintly stupid which isn't good. So sometimes when it's really bad, I talk to a friend on the phone, I can sit there and let the tears flow and no one is the wiser. In order to have a good weep I'd need a hug and sort of "permission" to cry and there's no one around me who can provide that. It's a real bummer.

Hard one. These days my tears have dried up, and no matter what stimulation I get, it usually reinvests itself as anger, not tears. Not good.
But when I watch films about creatures who are pure and innocent, usually animals or children, but sometimes aliens too, I start to weep and weepã
Stories on the news make me cry. So I avoid them.
But when I watch a d.v.d. at home, alone, and purity and innocence is under attack, I let myself cry and cry.
Sometimes I can't watch such films because I get so furious about human injustice. "Two Brothers" is but one example; but just a recent one.
But I can have a good rant and an even better cry.
Then I feel really good.
I think I cry for the whole world!
I very rarely cry for myself.ã

In my house, my mom doesn't exactly support crying,so what I do when I feel upset, and my emotions are just running wild is....
I go into the bathroom, turn on the shower and just let it all out.it's good to actually get in so nobody thinks it's supicious that you went in, they heard the shower, but your not wet.
when I know I need to cry,but they just won't come out,I do the same shower thing, but i will write or sing about my problems, until it makes me so upset that i cry,and i wash my problems down the drain!...

Remind yourself it doesn't cure what you're actually crying about. Empower yourself and do something about it.
If you can do something, no need to cry, if you can't.......no need to cry.
Have a laugh instead, you'll feel better and maybe wonder why you even wanted to cry.
Go to a therapist and maybe go to your doc's for some info.
I'd say cry by all means but you can actually get addicted to feeling sorry for yourself too. Ask yourself why.

Make sure I am alone and bring down the duvet. Lay on the sofa and put on a weepy film, titanic always does it for me, and sob my little heart out. I soon find that i am crying over everything and not just the film and always feels better after.

I find a safe place where nobody can see me (unless I'm with family or with my psychologist) and cry my eyes out. Then I'm usually in such a state of shock that I barely remember anything.

you have to confront whatever you are trying to avoid if it's a loved one who has left you remember the happy times smell their clothes fell good about crying as it's nothing to be ashamed. if you are having problems crying then it is best to talk to someone you feel comfortable with, if there is no one try talking to yourself in the mirror and speak your feelings this will hopefully allow you to become clear in your self conscious.

well, i can tell you how to fake it - but i don't think that's what we're talking about.
you know - this sounds probably pretty strange, but i'll put it out there. i once overheard a friend asking one of her girlfriends if she ever received a massage so good she cried...
now, i thought that kind of strange, but after thinking about it, i suppose that could happen. you might want to find a supportive friend who can just put an arm around you, and just be there.
that's happened to me a couple times believe it or not. they didn't say nothing, they just put their arm around me. when someone comes up to you and just gives that arm of support - you'd be surprised what comes out.
