My cycles are normally always on time and I have never been late for the 11 yrs I have had my cycle. They normally last 4-5 days and are very heavy. So for me this is very abnormal and me and my husband are TTC. So if you have any ideas let me know.

If this isn't typical for you, take a pregnancy test. I recommend First Response or Clearblue easy. They detect HCG at the lowest otc level. A lot of women have light periods or light spotting when they first become pregnant. It can be due to implantation or just a change in your body's hormone levels.

You may not have ovulated this month. Every woman has a few months that she doesn't ovulate, and the slight change in hormones can cause the period to be late or early, and can result in a lighter period. This is because the body does not waste a lot of effort building up the lining if it knows it will not get pregnant this month.

If you have another unusal period next month, you maybe having a cycle change that you should discuss with your doctor.
