Will X-rays increase, decrease or not affect the frequency of recombination and gene conversion? why?

x-rays will increase the rate of mutations. I can't see how it can affect recombination. It might decrease the possibility of recombinations surviving by destroying the viability of the cell. Similarly, the only way gene conversion can be affected by x-rays is through decreased viability of the zygotes.
