Don't know about cannabis cause I've never done it but probably very similar to ordinary tobacco, which I have done. All the outlook is good providing you keep your determination and don't succumb to the temptations that will come. It's a test of your will power. The first benefit is that not long after you stop your blood pressure goes down to a normal level. About 24 hours sees the nicotine out of your system. Over the next week or two the oxygen supply to your lungs improves and you will not be so wheezy. The carbon dioxide level in your body decreases dramatically. The amount of gooey stuff you bring up from your lungs will lessen. Your sense of taste will improve as will your sense of smell.Your appetite will Be greater(but don't overeat) and you appreciate your meals more. It takes about 3 months for you to reach the time of maximum benefit. Even after then your health improves some of which is not apparent to you.Your risk of lung cancer drops considerably as does the risk of heart disease and strokes. You cant see or feel these changes but they are there.I don't know what medication or system you are considering using to help you give up but take advice and stick with it, I did and feel a lot fitter than I was. I am 75 and smoked for 60 years..

Well, if you're anything like me, you won't wheeze just getting dressed in the morning. You won't smell like a wet ashtray any more. Your clothes won't smell after they've been washed a few times. Food will start to taste better, but hopefully the lack of munchie attacks won't cause a weight problem for you. For the first few days it will be tough, you will feel light headed, from the increased oxygen entering your bloodstream, but that goes away. The toughest part is all the little sub-habits around smoking. Do you smoke while talking on the phone? Do you smoke after dinner? Do you smoke while walking, driving, relaxing, etc? Recognize that you will have urges during those moments, but they are only from habit, not from a physical withdrawal. One famous method for quitting is breaking down all the situations in which you smoke, stopping each minor habit as the situation occurs.
Good luck, and stick with it, it is the best thing you will ever do for yourself.

Just want to say congratulations. You've seen the light. Just think, you won't smell foul any more, your clothes can smell of fresh linen at last. Read in book afew weeks ago the effects of stopping smoking I was amazed.
Within 20 Min's your blood pressure and pulse return to normal
After 24 hours the poisonous carbon monoxide has left your body and your lungs are finally free to begin clearing the tar.
After two weeks you find walking and running so much easier to walk and run
After 3 months you alot fitter
One year on the risk of having a heart attack has halved
After ten years it ll be the same as a person who has never smoked, and the risk of lung cancer will be reduced by around 30-50 percent compared to someone who continues to smoke.

put the money in a tin that you spend each week on your fags and weed then at the end of the year go book yourself a well earned holiday or something you want.
Your lungs will feel clearer. You wont have the smokers cough after a few months. You will smell and taste again properly. Your breath will feel fresher and cleaner. Your hair and clothes wont stink.
You wont be imposing your smoking on others either. (passive smoking effects)

- Your clothes, skin and hair won't smell bad any more.
- Your breath won't stink.
- Over time, your fingers won't be brown / yellow like you've been playing in dirt / crap all day.
- You'll save your teeth from being discoloured or rotten.
- You'll be able to taste food and drink properly.
- Increased libido and perfomance in bed.
- Better, longer-lasting erections (you're a fella, right?)
- Probably better digestion (every time you smoke it produces saliva, which in turn tells the body to get ready for food. When none arrives the stomach acid can digest the stomach itself- leading to stomach ulcers and other such nastiness).
- More energy.
- If you snored in the past, it'll probably become quieter (less phlegm and rubbish on your chest and in your nasal passages).
- The ability to play sports or go for a walk without wheezing.
- Not cough phlegm up in the mornings.
- A lot more money to play with (and make sure you DO play with it- you deserve it for packing in the cigs).
- People will not instantly dislike you when you sit near them in a pub.
- Fewer mood swings (after a couple of weeks, anyway...)
- If you used to smoke inside your house, once you clean it, it'll stay clean for longer.
- No chance of giving people around you cancer.
- Admiration from people for giving up one of the most addictive substances on the planet.
- Men / women will want to be you, men / women will want to be with you. Children will grow up wanting to be just like you.
OK, maybe the last one's a long-shot, but you can give it a go.
Good luck.
