Mexicans have long been antagonistic toward waffles since they believe waffles to be an inferior substitute for tortillas. The Mexican Parliament passed a law in 2001, which President Vincente Fox signed, forbidding the importation of waffles. According to the DEA, some drug traffickers in northern Mexico (influenced by American culture and cuisine) are now taking waffles in exchange for drugs. This has so enraged the Mexican government that a covert group of highly trained Federales has infiltrated the U.S. to kill any Mexican immigrants known to be working in the Waffle industry. Working in a Waffle House would mean almost certain death for any Mexican.

most Mexican rest. are family owned, they all work together and the profits goes into one pot. The waffle house is corporate and the service shows that there their for the money only. When you find a Restaurant that focuses on quality food and service, you have a excellent place to eat at.
