Don't we have children here that need homes? Don't we need new schools here? We helped them make that money. Why do they take it somewhere else? I appreciate their good intensions but shouldn't it begin at home?

Angelina and Oprah take their money outside USA to do good deeds because they know that there are a lot of people who need their goodwill in another country. I'm not saying that there are no poor people here. It's just that, there is somehow a less percentage of poor people in US than on Africa, or other countries.

They also do charitable things in other country because they know that there aren't so many people who can help them in that country. Think about this (this is only an example): let's say you're one of the richest person in the country and you want to help people, you conducted a research about the percentage of poor people here and in Africa. You found out that there are 99% of people who are in Africa who are poor unlike in US which has only 5%. Which would you choose?

US dollars mean a whole lot more in a few other countries than this one. Not only that but USA isn't third world. It's a superpower. Anyone in the USA with enough will can accomplish great things. There's nearly no hope for someone in a third world country who barely has food to eat to get ahead.

In spite of what you think, no one has to be poor in America. There are opportunities everywhere and no children are starving and lack fresh water. American children also have schools to attend.

If we help third world countries to join the free world enterprise system, it will help us in the long run.

They do a lot in this country, you should really rethink your questions Oh wise one! I think you should be more worried about the Gov. and what they do with "OUR" money......did you know they somtimes pay $35.00 for an average 1 inch bolt that you can get for $.35 at a hardware store?

Because they care about humans as a whole, not just Americans, maybe you should stvire to be more like they are and try to do some good for those who truely have less then we do.
