I have a small brass figure and would like to know how best to clean it?

My brass figure was cleaned with a brass cleaner and now it has dried and left behind a hard white substance in all the cracks and crevices. How can I remove it without scatching the figure?

There is a product on the market called Brasso that is designed to clean brass the best without damage. You apply it with a dry cloth and polish it that way without water. It really does work great. The can can be purchased at a hardware store and is red and silver on the outside.

Use a soft bristle tooth brush or a paint brush and run warm water over it to soften the brass cleaner back up. Scrub out all the crevises and cracks with which ever bursh works the best. When it is all cleaned off dry it with a soft cloth. Let it dry completely and if you see any that you missed do it again.

I use Brasso, apply, follow directions on container. To remove residue from small crevices, take a tooth pick, wrap end with tiny bit of cotton, and wipe gently. till gone.

Use more cleaner, to help soften that which has dried and hardened, then use a soft brush to clean the details. Rinse it thoroughly when done, then dry it. Water won't hurt it if you don't leave it on.
