how do you get the catsup out of the jar?

If shaking or slapping doesn't work then take your you index finger and thumb and apply pressure to the head of the catsup bottle. sucking out the catsup is effective but only as a last resort.

I stick a knife inside to get the catsup out until it flows evenly out. =)

Both, but this can take for ever. When no one is looking, take a clean knife and gently coax the ketchup out of the jar.

I'll tell you the way i learnt from a Pizza Hut waiter: you shake the bottle first very well, then turn it upside down and you'll find the ketshup smoothly sliding

I buy it in a squeezable container so I squeeze it.
I shake it out of a jar though.

A little of both and then I cram a knife up it and twist it around until I finally get what I want!

I place it in a plate up side down and leave it for a while. sadly it takes longer whiles in winter. it won't be that smoothy, u know =S
