this is not a racist statement or anything even like that, but i've heard horror stories of how dangerous it is. Can anyone confirm or deny them? We'd be going over next easter.

Well i went to the US in 2001, right after the 9/11 attacks, i don't think anywhere was perceived more dangerous then, and i sure as hell came back in one piece. AND NO U WONT END UP DEAD, well unless u want to be, and with that i mean, if u don't drink and drive, don't run off with some strange men, and don't take too much E. with that you'll be fine.

If you don't go Jamaica, and you are under 25 would you both end up dead, What kind of a mind frame do you have, people die in every country ever day,and no body talk about it,but if boy steal a mango from a lady basket in Jamaica, I bet it will make head line news all over the world, You wont end up,just come and enjoy your self,Their is so many nice thing about Jamaica which people dont talk about, their is also lovely road and beautiful homes in Jamaica,be the judge
don't listen to all the bad things you come across about Jamaica.

Not a chance! .....and if you do, it's probably because you have a weak heart and have died from sheer excitement!

Jamaica is AMAZING! Friendliest people you'll ever meet and the things to do list is endless. Talk about laid back, easy going, no problem mon! Besides, the people of Jamaica know just how important tourism is to the country and they try as hard as they can not to jeopardizes that.

Clearly, you have to be smart about travel to anywhere. It's not advisable to play Indiana Jones in any foreign country. Ask questions; hit the popular tourist attractions which any Jamaican can tell you about. Personally I LOVE Ocho Rios. I've found that it hase verything I could want; the nightlife, the wild outdoors adventure and the peaceful tropical getaway. Must do's there:-
- kayaking down White River
- climbing Dunnns River
- swimming with the Dolphins at Dolphin cove (which is pricy but worth it)
- A zip line tour with Chukka Tours
- any glass bottom boat ride
- Maguritaville parties

Man I could go on and on. Answering this question has made me want to plan my next Jamaican vacation.

Go...and enjoy every second of it. There's loads to do and see...and you'll live to want to do it all over again!

If people who went to Jamaica ended up dead do you think the country would still be a major tourist destination? I've been several times and have never had any problems with violence or crime and I have never stayed in a resort. I also spend a lot of time away from the tourist areas when I visit. The Jamaicans I have met are real cool people and fun to hang out with. You will probably learn a lot about yourself if you end up going, so go for the experience and have a nice time.

How many tourist go to Jamaica and come back? Where are you going? Hopefully tourist place? Montego Bay, Ocho RIos where? Is just like anywhere else you go and theres danger. Of course some place more than others but hopefully you are going to a good hotel and stay in your surroundings and have fun.

We just returned from a 2 week vacation in Jamaica. Not once did we ever feel unsafe. Quite frankly, I felt safer in Jamaica then I did when we were in Los Angeles. Just be smart, and use common sense.

there are horror stories that I have seen too on NBC, CNN, ABC, FOX and other US based network. that does not stop me from visiting the US.

The probability of you being killed in Jamaica is 0.0001.

come on down and visit and experience the love and warmth that we are famous for. when you are going home, remember to buy some blue mountain coffee, rum cream and Jamaican t-shirts.
