There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking prenatals..they are pretty much the same as a multi-vitamin that you get over the counter and it's probably a really good thing you are taking them. I've heard of people taking them for hair growth and to help their nails grow and strengthen and I've heard it actually works. If they did anything to harm you, I doubt doctors would recommend taking them pre-pregnancy, don't you? Hope it works for you!

Prenatals would do nothing to help with hair growth. The hair growth you hear about during pregnancy is caused by the hormones secreted by the placenta. The prenatals don't affect that at all.

Yes there will be side effects. Prenatals often contain LOTS of iron to prevent anemia. This much iron will constipate you. There may be other side effects too.

I am going to move towards the opposite men and women that experience published solutions. Prenatal nutrients are most often very top in Iron and different minerals, and will intent a few fundamental issues--constipation is one. Excess consumption of Iron can intent liver and kidney harm. High doses of nutrition C can intent ulceration of the belly and bowel. The frame will try to do away with extra quantities via flushing them out by way of the kidneys and liver. Flintstone or Centrum will just do as well as mega Vitamins. Otherwise you're simply throwing away your cash. Why men and women feel that prenatal nutrients is helping hair develop is given that most often pregnant women have extra hair progress for the duration of being pregnant, is as a result of hormones and no longer the nutrients. It is your choice. I desire you the fine.
