My CVA was 2/11/07, and now I am running 5 miles, and back to fulltime student, however my therapists won't clear me because the view young stroke victims as liabilities. I want to drive and go back to work, I also want to know if there is a way to sign a patient release from liability so I can transition to normality ASAP!!! Anybody who goes to an amusement park waves liabilty, why can't I do the same. I am fully functionable and since I am young I am stuck in outdated therapy techniques that focus on geriatric norms!

I am back to 100%! However, how do I get the Dr. to state that? I have completed all those therapy sessions as directed. I know I am capable of safely driving and going back to work. again, i believe they are being over cautious!!! i want to sign out and continue positive recovery by entering my life again!

You had your CVA not that long ago. Give it a bit of time. Do you have all function back? Are you 100% now? I know you prob don't want to hear this, but I would prefer the MDs to be cautious in granting you driving privileges(not liberties). Good luck to you, sounds like you're doing everything right.
