Place the wand in a bowl (Preferably some type of stone*, but anything would work. If you do not have a stone bowl, use clay or glass or if need be a pure metal, gold, silver, etc. It does not really have to be a bowl either, just some type of container.) filled with the purest water you can find (around room temperature). Slowly pour in and stir sea salt until it can no longer dissolve (You can obtain sea salt at most grocery stores. The coarser the crystals of salt the better.) Let the bowl and what it contains sit in a place where it will get both sunlight and moonlight for 24 to 48 hours.

*Yellow, white, or clear colored quartz would probably be best.

This is a generic cleansing, which can be used on just about anything.

If you could give me a more specific reason for the cleansing, I may be able to help you further. Simply email it to me through my profile.

Some Witches don't think it necessary.. If it is a new ritual tool that you didn't hand make yourself, then you may do this.. Sprinkle salt or salted water on your wand along with passing it through incense smoke.. Make up a little chant of 3 lines and make sure it rhymes.. You may also annoint it with some special oil if you so wish..An added part of this ritual, weather permitting.. It could be done under the full Moon, outside, never through the window... Blessed Be...)O(

I cast the circle, call the quarters, and ask them to cleanse my wand, then I call the goddess and god and ask them to bless and consecrate it, then I leave an offering of bread/apples and wine. DON'T forget to thank them and close the circle!
good luck!

You can burn sage and cleanse it with the smoke or with salt and water.
