umm, mythology is all made up of myths, which are legends, which are not real... unless u believe in the myths of like greek gods and sutff, then i guess it's real to u!!

That's a tough question to answer ( actually, it's only tough because of how you phrased it). Mythology was created, by the people, as a way to explain the 'unexplainable'. For example, when two people fell in love suddenly, people came up with the myth that a goddess named Aphrodite, casted a love spell on them. Or, that if a lightning storm were to just appear out of the blue, and thunderbolts lite up the sky, that a god named Zeus, was terribly angry, and he threw thunderbolts in a tantrum.
In a way, they are real, because they are based on real natural occurrences. However, the Gods/Goddesses, and mythical events that they (the people) used to explain them, were just myths.
