With 27% of America supporting Bush's "Endless war" policy, isn't it obvious that he is marginal and irrelevant?
Why do conservatives ignore the political facts of life in a democracy? When you represent the people, you have the power.

Angela, you should read the Constitution some time. It's pretty clear that Congress gets to spend the money any way it likes. And if it wants to attach conditions to how it spends the money, it can do that too.

Why do the socialist Democrats refuse to acknowledge that once Congress gives the go-ahead for a war, that the President (and only the President) is the Commander In Chief?
The military simply isn't run by majority vote, nor should it be!
I didn't think we should go in, and I don't really care if the Iraqi's slaughter each other when we leave.
But I will never support any Speaker Of The House who thinks it's her/his job to command the troops.
The Constitution means something to me, even when it doesn't serve my personal aganda.

There isn't a real democratic majority in the Senate. Still a lot of dead branch republicans. Anything that gets passed by the House has to go through the senate. The best the Democrats have is mainly symbolic gestures. So with that in mind they are still plodding long. I ma not pleased with Pelosi at all. She hasn't tabled impeachment of the war monger, despite it being passed by State legislatures in New Mexico, New Hampshire and cities and town councils in Vermont. She has gone so far as to threaten punishment of anyone introducing it in the House.
She should step down since she has obviously been purchased or threatened herself by the corrupt Bush admin.

Good Point Long Hair.
Our government has not done the work of a democracy until the majority was taken over by the Dem's by the slim margin.
Actually I love it. NOW they need each other.
Absolute power, absolutely corrupts.
Balance, common ground, needing each other is the Divine intervention we've been needing.

Can you spell VETO
Being in office doesnt mean you take a poll to make a decision...it means doing what you think is right..that is why we have terms not polls of popularity...
Having a term means you do what you think is right..even if it is unpopular...
For funding the commander-in chief has the power to borrow money from other areas of the budget WITHOUT congressional authority...then Congress has to pay it back...nice try but your WRONG AGAIN

The definition of happiness is "being content cloth with one's self." It doesn't be counted how far up the ladder-of-existence we've climbed, quite its how we dealt with others as we make the confusing climb to the the excellent option.

How do you figure? We are still there. Are we there because of Pelosi, or in spite of her? Wake up and smell the doggy-doo.
