Sims 2 help anyone?

I have an HP computer and have Sims 2 with the pet expansion pack. Whenever I want to move in sims to any family, it says that my pet is pregnant and you have to wait until the little ones come. But on some of the lots, I don't have any pets at all so that is impossible!!! Does anyone know anyway to help?

try to download a patch for sims 2 pets on the official site

uninstall the game then reinstall it
