Scientist know the moon plays a big part in Life on earth, Stabilizing its rotation and giving us the 4 season as well as the length of day. As it drifts further away from earth, it's projected the days will get longer as earth rotation slows. Since scientist know this, Why do they keep expecting to find life where the principles of the earth moon relationship does not exist. Such as, distance from the sun. moonless planets or moons with weak gravity.
They know if life were to exist on Mars it would have to share the same relationship earth does with it's moon. I can only guess that Mars once had earths position. Somewhere in history the moons were disturbed changing it's velocity and it lost stability. Finally why do they seek life but hide the evidence. People think it will change religious beliefs. But didn't God say he created all things so why wouldn't there be life elsewhere if God is everywhere.

First, the moon doesn't play that big a role as the cause of life on earth. Secondly, the moon is not responsible for the 4 seasons, it relates to the earth's 23 degree axis and the fact that the orbit is elliptic as it rotates around the sun. I know of no evidence that the moon is drifting away.

The reason scientists keep looking at distance from the sun (or star) is because the star is in a very real sense the cause of life. It provides the energy in most cases on earth. There also appears to be an optimum temperature necessary for life to exist. Planets too close to a star (therefore too hot) or too far away (therefore too cold) may have a more difficult time supporting life. Gravity may also play a weak role except that atmosphere is less likely on a low gravity planet and atmosphere may be more important. Water is important to terrestrials life forms, but who knows for extra-terrestrials. Mars never had earth's position in the solar system. Scientist conjecture that Mars may have been warmer and may have harbored a life form. I won't comment on the last 3 sentences. But based on what you wrote above, I'd say you don't have a good grip on what's going on and what may be necessary for life.

I have to agree with the person who answered this first. The moon does play a role in the cause of "life" here on earth, but not in an essential way.

And well about Mars having Earth's position earlier... I don't know anything about it, really.

God created everything, everyone, every concept (some of them through us)... so no I'm not gonna wobble on my beliefs if life is found in Mars (or elsewhere). Some people may, but that is just given to the strength and stability of your faith.
