Carbon tetrachloride CCl4 (Tetrachloromethane) Neither shines aluminum, nor reacts with it.
It is labeled as toxic when deeply inhaled.
It's not flammable, but when exposed to open flame, it yields phosgene which is highly toxic.

You can get it from Aldrich Scientific, but it is extremely expensive. A one liter bottle costs about $300. Carbon Tet is a known carcinogen and the only approve uses of it are in scientific laboratories (research and analytical). It can dissolve crud off of aluminum and many other materials, but actually does not shine aluminum.

I was trying to rebuild my Lava lamo & it called for a glycerol additive(a byproduct of fermented yeast), which is:Carbon Tetrachloride. I just did not know where to purchase it.

From a commercial chemical vendor.
Be prepared to pay an arm and a leg, because it is highly regulated due to its carcinogenic nature.
