im running windows Xp. I recently installed a program and it seems to have altered my computer's sound configurations.I don't hear any sounds from itunes, etc. I dont know whats wrong, but i tried uninstalling the program and its still the same. I opened up the sounds troubleshooter in control panel but it did not help AT ALL. does anyone know what is wrong or how to fix it --- or better yet how to somehow restore default sound settings?

go into control panel , click on system , scroll to system devices , look at your device , if there are any devices with a yellow cicle with a black apostrophe , then click on it , to see if you can update.. if you know what your sound card is , download it on download.com , most of them are free , do a search for avance 97 , this is most likely the one you need
if this doesnt work , try system settings , run windows for best performance , if this does nothing , reinstall xp , but just have it update , not delete everything and reinstall.
delete itunes , and download the latest
additionally , if you have system restore turned on , click on that , and restore system from the last update point..
if it is none of the above , sell it on ebay and get another one , hehe - good luck!

just do a system restore, go to: start> accessories> system tools> system restore and choose a restore point which suits you the most. If that doesn't work you can download or update the drivers for your speakers, Good luck

It depends what kind of computer it is, laptop or desktop? Either way my solvent for problems on my computer contact the computer manufacturer, or just run a system recovery.
