Because by nature people rebel against what is spoon fed to them daily.
That, and the idea that you're working for the common good and can never rise above the middle class because the Democrats will tax the **** out of you should you try flies in the face of the American Dream.

When people self-identify as either liberal or conservative, conservatives seem to outnumber liberals by about 2:1. I believe this holds more true in the general populace than in the populace that routinely uses the web.
However, overall voting patterns and polls seem to show an increasing tendency towards liberal values.
Go figure.
Why do you feel that you're inundated with liberal media and schooling? Can you provide some examples or links?
Thanks.

Liberalism as a political philosophy has been exposed as flawed and shallow.
It has become the directionless ramblings of a wide assortment of anarchists from an increasingly virulent group of people who essentially espouse anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism and anti-religion.
Of course one of the most damaging realities to liberalism is the constant unveiling of hypocricy in regard to their 'leaders'.
Al Gore is just the latest in a long line of elitist liberals who live by the 'do as I say, not as I do' credo.
A word of warning, though.
Liberalism as a quasi-religion is kept alive in our school systems - especially at the university level where the same 'liberals' who once fought for the right of free speech on campus now censor and punish free speech (that does not fall in lock-step with their own narrow worldview) , allowing no dissent what-so-ever.at every opportunity.
Of course, the other bastion of liberalism is the media.
Does it not strike anyone as odd that the two vocational pillars of liberal thought are also two professions (teachers and reporters) who live in cloistered environments where their political leanings are not only never challenged, but are endorsed and rewarded by like-minded higher-ups.
Both these professions are populated by people who comment on the 'real world' without actually contributing to it or living in it as the rest of us do.
Sorry, Liberals...I know this is a very 'inconvienient truth' indeed.
But it is truth nonetheless.

It has caught on. Only 20% of the public agrees with the Repubs and they lost the last election. That despite the fact that libs do NOT control the media or the schools. Fox Noise sees to that.

That's a really good point, and for I do worry about our young people being exposed to so much of it. But, for the majority, people are going to believe what they want to, fortunately, no one has brainwashed us that far as yet. Hometraining is still what is important as far as core values anyway.

I think its because it gets such bad press. Everyone seems to hate liberals. Its developed certain connotations. But yes, you're right. It is everywhere. It seems everyone subscribes to the liberal point of view but, they all vote conservative.
