I get so tired of the game they play in the news about whether the economy is good , bad , or "goldilocks" .

I read the web page for CNBC every day and everyday they have a editors note about what we should be thinking about the future of the economy. Who are these people to tell us? Is there a little private interests in letting us know about what they think we should do?

I totaly agree I hate it when they publish bad news it is not good for the market they do it so the guru's can buy more stock for less they get paid for this **** and we just have to follow the lead other wise we get **** on. Why can't they just tell good news and let the economy grow bigger. My company grows every year so it must not be that bad and I charge more every year and no one complains.

I think the news plays a very important role in the behavior of the investor as well as the consumer. The average investor/consumer is not privy to information held by the large investment banks and private equity houses. Thus, they feel the only way they can get an insight into the "next big thing" is through the news and other forms of media. As you mentioned correctly, we see contradictory news almost everyday. This leads to confusion among the common person. An individual might also follow news which he/she "wants" to hear. I believe that an investor/consumer needs to take decisions based on his/her own research and not rely on the media alone.
