Hi, just looking for tips on at home pedicures.
I have "special needs" feet in that I walk around all day in heels at work (no choice on that one) and wear flip flops all the time (HOT climate). What is the best way to keep my feet looking reasonably presentable, and my polish from chipping so bad?
Thanks!!

OK, i give myself home pedicures all the time. Here is my step-by-step strategy that really works::

1. Get a tub (big enough for both of your feet to fit in) and fill it with warm water, some olive oil, and your favorite smelling soap. DON'T PUT YOUR FEET IN IT YET!
2. Remove the polish that is on your toes.
3. Cut them.....long toenails are NOT in!
4. File your nails so that they are round
5. Then push back your cuticles
6. Now put your feet in the tub, soak them for about 1-2 minutes
7. Dry with a towel
8. Put on tons of lotion DO NOT WIPE ANY OF IT OFF
9. Put on a pair of comfy socks (ones that you don't mind getting the lotion on)
10. leave on for about 30 seconds
11. Take them off, then wipe off the excess lotion
12. Now apply your favorite nail polish. HINT: if your nail polish os chipping off, buy some clear nail polish that goes on as a top coat. or buy some Sally Hansen no chip polish (here is a link that will show you:: http://www.sallyhansen.com/diamond_strength_nails.cfm )

hope that that helped!!! it sure does for me!
if you have any questions...just email me!

I don't know about the polish....sorry.

But the pedicure, if you want really soft looking feet, do this right before bed.

Soak your feet in warm/hot soapy water for 5/10 min. Then with a pumice stone, gently scrub the soles of you feet, the heels esp. the sides and wash off then pat dry, then apply a good amount of whatever moisturizer you use and put on socks.
the next day you will have beautiful soft , enviously sexy feet.

i do the same (heels and flip flops as needed) and my nail polish don't chip until a few days after. but i guess you can start with an overcoat every time you apply fresh nail polish on your toes... then don't wear closed shoes that are too tight at the toe-end so they don't rub on your toe nails bad enough that they ruin your polish... :) and every time you wear flip flops, wash your feet afterwards with soap and water, then apply some moisturizing cream...
