I'm having pain on both of my ovaries most on the left and now im feeling pain on my right side to, lower back pain as well, i had been worried about pregnancy because i lost my virginity 6-7 weeks ago and ever since that day i thought i was pregnant, even though a condom was used and did not break, my period was a little late last cycle and was shorter and lighter than usual, this has had me under tremendous stress, can that much stress be the cause? is it possible to be an ovarian cyst? I havent had sex since then, and i dont know, is it possible that all that stress has lead me to ovarian cyst?

Stress wouldnt cause the cyst. But it would delay or effect your period. You can still get pregnant even if the condom is used right. Its only about 70% effective. I would take a test.
Its not abnormal to get faulse neg, results. I took about 14-15 with my son. All negitive, then one was positive.......... i was 3 1/2 months before it showed up.
I would see a dr. if your having pain.

Hi Honey. You really need to relax and deal with this situation one thing at a time.
I have to tell you that stress will not cause an ovarian cyst! Stress can be blamed for many things but it does not cause your ovary to grow a cyst.
Secondly I want to tell you that the odds of you being pregnant from a single act of intercourse are between zero and 20 %. I am almost certain that you are NOT pregnant. I would say that I was certain but then stranger things have happened. Women have gotten pregnant when actual intercourse did not even take place, but that sort of thing belongs in the "Ripleys Beleive it or Not" book. It is VERY unusual.
Okay, having said that let me say something else. IF and I do mean IF, you do a pregnancy test and get a positive result AND continue to have the pain that you think is coming from you ovary, please see a doctor. There is a slim chance that you might have an ectopic pregnancy. I am not trying to scare you because I do not think that you are pregnant at all but in the odd chance that you are, you need to be seen by a doctor. Sometimes (and it is pretty rare) the fertilized egg manages to become embedded somewhere other than in the uterus. Most likely in a fallopian tube. This can be very dangerous if it is not detected and dealt with at an early stage.
You should do an at home pregnancy test. Ideally you should see your doctor and tell her the whole story. The doctor will do a blood test which will tell you with nearly 100% accuracy whether or not you are pregnant. If you have a negative pregnancy test that will lower your stress level dramatically. If you choose to do a test at home please remember that the tests that you buy at the drug store are the exact same test that they use at pregnancy clinics, I know because I work at one. They are all the same. Some of the very cheap ones that you might buy at a $ store can be outdated and not as good but if you buy a brand name test at a drug store it will be the same as the one that a doctor would use. In my opinion you need a blood test because it is so much more reliable. You also need a medical exam because even tho you are not pregnant there is still the problem of why you are having this abdominal pain. It is possible that you could have an ovarian cyst. You need to have that evaluated.
Please honey, do see a doctor. The pain that you are having on the right side of your abdomen is certainly a good reason to explain why you need to see a doctor in case your parents want to know. If you have a family doctor they can handle this problem, it does not have to be an OB/GYN. If you need to be refered to one later, cross that bridge when you come to it. There is no reason for the doctor to speak to your parents about what is going on. You are the patient and patient confidentiality rights should prevent him from talking to your parents.
The important thing is that you get the care that you need. Do not put that off just because you are scared or embarassed. You need to find a form of birth control that you feel good about. There is nothing wrong with condoms but it seems that you do not feel safe using them. Many married people have used them for years with out a pregnancy and if used properly they are very reliable.
Please do take care of yourself, that is the most important thing!
Love and Blessings

Ovarian cysts have nothing to do with stress, but it's very common for a woman to have them. My advice is to go see a doctor as soon as you can. Ask them politely to do an ultrasound. You have the right to do that.
I was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection or bladder infections for two consistent years. When a doctor finally did an ultrasound and actually examined me thoroughly, he found a large cyst on my left ovary. By the time I had it surgically removed a few months later, it was the size of a watermellon. They ended up having to take my left ovary out too. Now I can't have kids. I've had two miscarriages since then because I was Rh- (just found that out) and I have too much scar tissue to even stay pregnant. Doctors recently told me that even if I did get pregnant again, they'd advise me to abort the baby.
So, don't delay this... see a doctor as soon as you can. Tell them you think it may be an ovarian cyst and that you won't be satisfied until you have results of ultrasound and an exam to prove that you don't or do.
Good luck to you.

Ovarian cyst is soooo normal.I've had a few and have managed to get rid of them with birth control.Even when a women gets pregnant she gets a cyst. Not all women that have had babies realize it cuz the person who does the ultra sound doesn't normally say.It can also b an infection.A bladder infection can b painful once it hits your kidney n can cause back n front pain.I would go n get a pap test ASAP.I never know that I had a bladder infection until it goes to the kidney cuz it is silent for me until it reaches there.Try not to panic n make an appt. ASAP I hope it all works out just hang in there until u get results k.Bye 4 now n if u need to no more u can contact me through IM on here.

Hi! Try really hard not to freak yourself out, causing mental anguish can cause health problems.
Where pregnancy is concerned, head off down to the supermarket/convenience store and purchase a preg test, they're very accurate, cheap and easy to get. Get one with two tests to be sure.
With the ovarian pain you are experiencing, definitely speak to a doctor, they'll likely organise an ultrasound etc to check things out and do blood tests perhaps. No use freaking out before you actually find out.

stress can cause alot of things delayed or shorter periods for example, to ease your worries just buy a test from the store or go to plan parenthood, if your not pregnant then see your family dr, i assume your underage so talk to your mother about your pains , you dont need to tell her you had sex unless your comfortable with it. she would most liekly set you up with an appointment with her gyno. and the dr will ask you if your comfortable with her in the room, if not then your mother will never know what you and the dr talked about. this is a very good idea to do if your not pregnant becuase this dr can set you up with birthcontrol pills. and the dr will find out what the pain you are feeling is, if its not pregnancy.you may be just freaking yourself out for no reason, just take a test to ease your worries

The best thing to do right now is, buy a pregancy test kit frm the pharmacy. If you are not supposed to be having sex now and you're too embarassed to buy a pg kit, pretend you're talking to your sister on your mobile phone in front of the sales girl. Buy it then check it out. By now, you shld know if your are pg or not. I dun know why you are having pain. But if the pain is unbearable and it's spreading, see a doctor. A girl shld never take the insides of her body lightly

You're stressing yourself out and making your body react to it.
Breathe, relax...you're fine.
Perhaps however, this was a wake up call and you should not have sex again until you are prepared for all the consequences, including pregnancy.

I fly under the radar around here, so I'm happy to say that I feel under-appreciated. I guess the economy has hit Yahoo points, too, huh?
