How do you ghost a computer?

Well, you would need Norton Ghost. Ghosting means you are making a duplicate drive.

Just connect the target drive to an open connector on your SATA/EIDE bus.

Set the jumpers on the drive to CS (cable select) or Slave.

Select your source drive ( the one you want to duplicate ) then select the target drive. It's easier to differentiate the two drives if they are different capacities. If they are the same capacity you could end up erasing the drive you wanted to duplicate.

Then remove the source drive and reboot the computer to see if the target drive was ghosted properly.

There sure is such a thing...!! It's the absolute first piece of software (except for your AV), that I highly recommend you buy...... NORTON GHOST (the only Norton product I like).

I have 5 ghosts of my computer at any one time - and ghost has saved me a ton of times of having to reinstall.... it's fabulous.... Get it.... it's worth it's weight in gold.

The newer versions are really easy. Just put in the CD and follow the instructions for making an "image" of your drive. There are several options as newer versions let your back up in increments. Very easy.... It's nice if you have a 2nd hard drive. If you have a newer computer that can boot from a USB drive, I'd ghost right to USB and you'll always have your computer in your hand.
