I do not think that a judge will send a pregnant woman to prison. She will be kept in some sort of detention that will be adequate for her and the baby's needs. I think it is a hospital attached to a prison.

They go to the local hospital whichever is closest to the prison to deliver. The baby is taken away before her return to the prison usually in 48 hours. If the prisoner has family who will care for the child they can come and get the baby or else it goes into foster care. Whether they get the baby back depends on the woman, her circumstances and whether she comes out ready to be a responsible Mom.

receive midwife and doctor care, if hospital wing of prison they will go there to give birth if not will go to normal hospital under supervision. Many prisons have mother and baby units where they get to keep the baby for up to a yr, then it will be sent to family members. Unless the mother is unfit/ child related sentence they will be re lased and child will be placed back into there mothers care.

As far as I understand in the UK the baby stays with the mother until around a year when the baby is placed either in foster care or with a member of the mother's family.

The mother then gets the child back when she's served her time and if she is considered a stable and acceptable mother.

They get proper care and anti-natal treatment - they get to give birth in hospital. Then, their child is taken into care (assuming there is no father who is responsible enough to take the child - as usually the case). They go back to prison then to serve their sentence, and they may or may not get the child back, depending on their crime etc.

My friends sister was in jail while pregnant and there was a doctor that came to see her there....she gave birth in the hospital and as soon as she was recovered she went right back to jail and her baby stayed with a family member until she got out

My sister is studying for this, she will give birth and the baby will go to the family, but the person that gave birth will go back to jail until their sentience is served.

It really depends on the state that person is in, what the laws are. I am not clear on the terms but the mother would have to petition for her child, and needs to be supervised, through child services.
