men putting the seat back down, or women putting it back up?

Majority should rule. Women use the seat in the down position 100% of the time and men use it in the down position approximately 30% of the time.

Assuming a one to one ratio of male/female in any given household; out of a total available 200%, the majority of use is roughly 130%, I think that qualifies.

Or try this: There is nothing worse then landing your fanny inside a toilet at 3AM because the seat's up :)

I always put the seat down. But that's because I have a dog and a kitten. Both of which I've had to dry off a few times.

Putting the seat down and both sexes closing the toilet lid. Less likely to have something fall into the toilet that way.

Around here, I wanted to end the debate by installing a urinal...that was rejected. So, if you eye it as an feng shui point, leaving the seat and lid up is a big energy sucking (outhouse) hole...

My husband is outnumbered here. Three (sometimes four) girls vs. Him.

The seat goes down.
