They did need Mario Williams and they didnt need Vince Young since they had Carr so Reggie Bush would be the best pick in their situation. But im not complaining(im a Saints fan). But it wasnt a total lost. They could of drafted anybody because every position on that team needs talent. The Texans are 5 years old though, So dont think their gonna be like the Colts or Chargers. If I was the Texans I would worry about that O-Line they have. The Texans are even stupider for releasing Carr and starting Schaub. If the Texans got lucky Joe Thomas could still be in the Draft around the 10th pick and they could of got him and they could of had sucess if they didnt release Carr. Ya you're right if they traded Carr to the Chargers for Brees well... we wouldnt be making fun of the Texans right now. the Chargers released Brees so you know they would trade him to start Carr instead of Rivers. Then the Chargers would be even more powerful and the Texans would have Brees to give them some sucess. Look at what Brees did for the Saints Passing Game. The Texans are a bad decision making team.

I think the Texans should've traded down and took D'Brickashaw Ferguson. What's the point in having a QB or a running game when they can't block a lick. David Carr will be glad he's out of there. I feel bad for Matt Schaub, but he finally gets to start after waiting the last few years for Mike "Ron Mexico" Vick to break his neck! Carr won't have to worry about being sacked damn near 7 times a game either. Who knows how many times he gets knocked on his *** even when he passes, or gets pressured!

The Texans didn't need Reggie Bush anyway! If Dominick Williams hadn't screwed up his knee in the preseason, they would've been fine in their running game. Williams is a great all-purpose back. Besides, they have Ron Dayne, Ahman Green, & Wali Lundy (good rookie pick-up) to spread out the offense. If they found some veteran help on defense, and an Offensive Line to BLOCK, they COULD be legit. I think Gary Kubiak will turn that team around in a few years, but hopefully they won't beat my team when they do!

Hindsight being 20/20 - a good point can be made about the Texans passing up Bush, and being crazy to do so. Even if they didn't need a running back - NO already had McAllister and were able to make that tandem work.

However, going into the draft there were serious questions about whether or not Vince Young could transform himself into a typical QB. (IE lining up behind the center and not working from the shotgun every play of the game.) Thats where the Tennessee QB coach (Chou? i probably have spelled is name wrong, but the guy who used to coach USC's QBs) came in handy on working with Young.

About 95% of football fans probably.

Even if Mario Williams is the next Julius Peppers they still really missed out on some talent. When your best offensive play maker is Andre Johnson you probably need some help. Carr is good but he doesn't fit into Texans offense well. You know the no blocking at all offense. Davis is mediocre and could have done better if he was splitting carries with Reggie

You're absolutely right. They could have had either Vince Young or Reggie Bush. Instead they drafted Mario Williams. I have no idea what the hell they are thinking. The Houston Texans are just as pathetic at making decisions as the Detroit Lions are.

I don't. At the time Carr and Dominick Williams(Davis) were both healthy, so they didn't NEED a Qb or RB. They NEEDED a defensive player. So it was a good pick. It just looks bad because Dominick Williams got hurt and Carr was traded.
