It is strange to say the least.

Years ago, in my high school days, there was a kid we all knew and grew up with who seemed to be just like us in every way.

What we didn't know is that he had a tremendous singing voice. They had a program in the afternoon where the music dept. had different songs they would do for the general assembly.

This kid sang "Danny Boy" and when he opened his mouth to sing, we were amazed and, well, personally, I was overwhelmed.

This kid could sing!! He never pursued a career, but had he done so, I am sure he would have done well.

To talk to him sounded just like anyone else, but when he started to sing, WOWSER!!

Well, it depends on the person i guess. My speaking is depressingly girly and I am a soprano when I sing. According to my choir director my singing voice is sweet and girly so it doesn't really apply to me.

some people try too hard to change their voice while singing so it sounds better. The really good singers have the same voice either way.
