Clams generally don't, but when they do it's generally by crawling, similar to how a snail does.

But if they're in a hurry, they do have a way to clap their shell halves together to make a jet of water.

Don't you people go to high school biology class? This should have been covered. I'm amazed and appalled. It's a wonder anyone uses this thing for any real answer. It shouldn't be yahoo answers, it should be yahoo rumors.

they open and shut their shell,creating a rush of water that push them a few inches at a time but if they are in a hurry they actually flap their shell like a butterfly.it's quite amazing.they can cover many yard at a time

They have a pseudo foot (false foot). It is like their tongue and they use it to push themselves around. They can also use the water propulsion way of moving. :)

i heard that they have a foot that they stick out of their shell to move across the bottom. i think i saw it on the discovery channel. maybe not. anyway, check out discovery.com maybe they can give you the answer.
