Our nearest tack shop if 45 mins. away. We have a lot of draft and saddle horse people in the area. Could someone give me some ideas or advice on the best way to start this tack shop in this small town?? Thank you!

If you have dealt with the basic business plan and SWOT analysis you should be aware of the demand for this product in this location. You will have talked to other tack shop owners about how they are doing, either openly or as an interested customer. You will need to do your homework to the nth degree or you will lose a lot of money.
My wife is a horsey person and we recently visited a tack shop where the owners were concerned that the internet was impacting their business significantly and their margins were under pressure. It strikes me that the internet and large stores with low overheads are likely to be the way forward in this market, unless you have an amazing unique selling point I would be very careful.

Is there a demand for a tack shop in your town? Are you going to do this full time or part? Have you ever thought of opening a store on line first? Do you like to deal with people? Do you know a lot about the subject? There are a lot of questions to ask yourself first. Check with your local CHAMBER OF COMMERANCE.
